Galvanized Welded Wire Mesh

Galvanized Welded Wire Mesh

Low-carbon steel wire, resistance-welded and then galvanised - or galvanised before welding Electro-zinc or hot-dip coating, with salt-spray reports supplied per shipment Rolls or cut panels, made to your specification

Product Introduction

Galvanized welded wire mesh is made from low-carbon steel wire, resistance-welded into a rigid grid and then protected with a zinc coating. Two process routes are available - coat the wire before welding, or weld first and hot-dip the finished mesh - and that choice decides how well the weld points survive outdoors. Rolls suit site cutting and long runs; panels suit reinforcement and fabrication work. Wire diameter, opening, coating weight and packing are made to order, and mixed specifications can ship in one container.

Which Galvanising Do I Need?

Indoor, dry, or painted

electro-galvanised, or galvanised before welding. Cheapest option that works.

Outdoor, humid, coastal, permanent

hot-dip after welding. The zinc goes on last, so the welds are protected too.

Test it yourself:

If a sample rusts at the intersections before anywhere else, it was galvanised before welding.

Product Features

Zinc that stays on

On hot-dip mesh the coating is a zinc-iron alloy formed into the wire surface, not a film sitting on top. Bend the mesh, shear it, punch it - the coating deforms with the steel instead of flaking off at the bend.

Welds that hold and sit square

Every intersection is resistance-welded - not twisted or clipped - with the current set to the wire diameter. The mesh is held square through the line, so openings stay uniform along a full roll and panels butt up cleanly on long runs.

Flat, clean edges, no burrs

The mesh lies flat off the roll and wire ends are cut clean. Nothing snags on gloves, tarpaulin or bagged product, and stacked panels sit down flat instead of rocking on a high spot.

Rolls wound to pay out

Rolls are wound tight and straight - no coning, no slack core, no collapsed centre - so the roll feeds evenly on site and the last few metres are still usable.

FAQ

Q: How can the zinc coating on galvanized welded wire mesh be verified?

A: A third-party test report detailing the zinc coating weight is provided with each order. Upon arrival, you may conduct a follow-up check using a portable magnetic thickness gauge; the readings should align within the instrument's specified tolerance. We will replace any batches that do not meet these requirements.

Q: How can rust be prevented at the cut edges of galvanized welded wire mesh?

A: The alloy layer present at the cut edges of hot-dip galvanized mesh provides a certain degree of protection. For edges that will be exposed for an extended period, simply apply a zinc-rich coating-which can be supplied along with your order.

Q: Can different specifications ship in one container?

A: Yes,five specifications or fewer, with the list sent in advance, so packing and loading can be optimised.
