"Flattened Expanded Metal" is created by cold-rolling and flattening standard expanded metal mesh. The resulting surface is smooth and level, free from raised strands or nodes, while also being lighter and featuring larger openings. The product is formed from a single sheet of material through a continuous expansion process; it has no weld points or seams, ensuring a robust structure. While maintaining high strength, it offers superior flatness and ease of processing compared to standard expanded metal. Standard expanded metal has raised strands and nodes after punching; cold-rolling flattens the entire mesh surface into a single plane. It is safe to touch (won't scratch hands or feet), making it ideal for applications requiring a smooth finish.

One-Piece Construction, No Welds

Formed from a single sheet via a continuous punching and expansion process, the mesh has no weld points or seams. This eliminates issues like rusting or detachment at weld points and ensures structural integrity.

Lighter Weight, Larger Openings

Materials

Carbon steel, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, galvanized sheet, aluminum sheet, copper sheet, nickel sheet, and titanium sheet are all available.

Dimensions

Sheet thickness 0.5–10.0 mm; mesh pitch (LWD) 4–300 mm and (SWD) 2–150 mm; maximum sheet width 3,100 mm; length cut-to-size or supplied in coils.

Hole Patterns

Diamond is the standard pattern; square, hexagonal, and fish-scale patterns can also be customized.

Surface Treatment:

Hot-dip galvanizing (≥80 μm), electro-galvanizing, powder coating (RAL colors), PVC coating, spray painting, polishing, and anodizing are all available.

Flattening Level

Light rolling (flattening only the strand intersections) or full rolling (flattening the entire sheet into a flat plate).

Additional Processing

Further processing such as edge bending, custom shape cutting, and frame welding can be performed upon request.
